Soon to be Mr & Mrs {Sneak Peak}

I had a very lovely suprise last week when my lovely bride emailed to say she would be visiting St. Augustine with her fiance, who I did not have the pleasure of meeting when I met Miss R.

I woke them up early Saturday morning so we could get some sunrise pictures at the beach before heading downtown to explore.

Enjoy your sneak peak!

The F Family {Sneak Peak}

I cannot believe how great this session was! I haven’t gotten through all the pictures yet so obviously I don’t mean just the pictures. I had so much fun with this family, but I didn’t expect anything less. I met Mrs. F a few weeks ago after a mutual friend got us in contact. She took me all around St. Augustine, showed me around, AND introduced me to a great restaurant!

Little Miss M is so sweet, I can’t believe how much she reminds me of my own little girl!

Can you tell in this picture how much her parents love her? The getting dressed for a session is never when you expect to have pictures taken, but I couldn’t resist!

Driving through San Marco a few weeks ago, we drove past a yard sale. And guess what I saw? This parasol and I had to have it. So around we turned, all because I wanted to see what my daughter did with it. Since I haven’t had the chance to use it with her, Miss M tried it out for me : )

More coming soon!

Downtown Jacksonville {D’s Sneak Peak!}

Today I got to spend some time with my best friend from high school for a fun downtown Jacksonville session. We found lots of great spots, but really there are so many more we could have one to if the rain didn’t start. Have to love summer in Florida when you know without fail it will rain!

Our favorite spot was outside of  the burrito gallery, but if you go there to take pictures, don’t tell them we sent you : )

Enjoy your sneak peak D! More to come soon.

Why photography?

I was thinking about ‘why photography’ today because I’ve been getting that question a lot since we moved to the Jacksonville area. I could really give you lots of different answers

  •  I can set my own schedule
  •  I am my own boss
  •  It’s fun
  •  I get to be creative
  •  I get to help out great causes (check out oplove.org)
  •  I get to document important occasions for people and give them images they will have for forever

See, I could go on and on. But really, I do it because of the journey I get to take with my clients and the places I get to go. My clients become my friends, if they weren’t already, and I can take photography with me anywhere. My camera is almost always with me and I get to meet some pretty amamzing people. And not just clients,  my so-called ‘competition’. Now, don’t get me wrong, I like competition and I’ve always been competitive, especially in sport type events. I think competition is healthy, but I haven’t met a photographer I think of as competition, they become friends. For instance, when we moved to the Jacksonville area I heard a few times about competing with a wonderful photographer here and how would I ever compare to her. But I don’t want to compare with her, she’s a FANTASTIC photographer and I want to be fantastic too, but I don’t want to be a copy of someone else. I want to be my own self.  But she’s an even better person than she is photographer and I’m glad to call her my friend. I even have a family session with her next month so that my family can have some remarkable pictures. So, what’s my point? My point is that sometimes the journey is even better than the pictures created and the pictures are just the icing on the cake!

The H Family {Sneak Peak}

Meet the H Family! I was able to get out of packing our house for a little while and meet a lovely family Saturday evening. It poured all afternoon leading up to our session, but lucky for me it stopped just in time!

Enjoy your sneak peak!

Miss E and Miss G {sneak peak}

Here is a sneak peak of Miss E and Miss G. I got to play with them this morning at Eagle Landing in Oakleaf Plantation.

Enjoy the sneak peak! More coming soon!

San Marco: Mr and Mrs G {part 2}

Part 2 from the San Marco session earlier this week. Have I mentioned how much I love this couple?
