We recently welcomed a new baby boy just in time for Christmas {making our daughter a big sister for the first time!}, my husband celebrated one year in his {not really anymore} new position, our oldest son joined his first soccer team and started VPK, my husband and I took a trip {just us}, and I continued working on my business. I photographed births, weddings, children, couples and engagements, families, and homecomings. I caught up with clients and met new ones that quickly became friends. 2011 was a pretty good year.
To say thank you to all current clients, and introduce a brand new pricing structure for sessions, I am waiving the artist fee for one session for all current Mady Joe Photography clients. The only ‘catch’ is that the session must be completed prior to August 1, 2012 and must take place in St Augustine or Orlando.
The biggest differences between last years pricing are the lack of digital images included in the session and that mini sessions will no longer be offered year round. Mini sessions will only be for specials through out the year.

A Surprise Engagement! {Jacksonville Engagement Photographer | Jacksonville Wedding photographer | MadyJoePhotography.com}

Usually, I am pretty good, but this time I was so worried about slipping up and giving the secret away! I’ve known about these plans for months and I was so glad when it was finally time for everyone else to know! Even my children knew a little and keeping a 5 year old and 3 year old quiet about something is hard! Especially when my daughter was playing with my ring and looked at me, completely innocent, and said ‘for Aunt Jen?’
Let me rewind a second. We {myself and my children} went to meet Mr. I for some ring shopping and somehow, little Miss M remembered this weeks later and just a few hours before we were going to see Aunt Jen and completely related my ring with the ones we had looked at for Aunt Jen. A girl interested in jewelry. Her poor future husband should start saving now!
So, finally, my sisters birthday weekend came around, and she had no idea what was in store! She was blindfolded from her house alllll the way to the restaurant. That is dedication on Ivin’s part and trust on Jen’s! It was fun, sweet, and yummy! Enjoy some pics!

I met this lovely bride at the Fall Bridal Fantasy Bridal Show in August when she won my door prize I donated. They were super easy to talk to and so sweet! J and I had lots of emails and phone calls organizing everything, and I think it turned out fantastic! We had a great morning with them and luckily the weather worked with us as well, especially since we had already rescheduled once due to rain! Oh, and you see the homemade apple pie in the cake plate? She made that and sent it home with us! How sweet is that!
Wishing them all the best in the future!

So, now I am playing catch up! I had a lot of fun with this family. They introduced me to a location I didn’t even know existed; those are always the best!
It was so nice to see an extended family that really seems like a family unit and seemed to have a great relationship! Mrs H said how lucky they are that their sons found such wonderful women and that they have great families. And it’s true!
Here are a few pictures from their session and soon they will have the gallery password to check out ALLLL the pictures from their session. They have a lot of great ones!

Have you ever done something that you were excited about, but when you got there you immediately nervous and doubting yourself? That is exactly how I felt when we started setting up at Sawgrass Marriott for the Fall Bridal Fantast Show. It was just overwhelming being there for the first time with so many of the top wedding vendors in the area – it’s intimidating! Lucky for me, I was able to see some of my favorite vendors and be not far from them in our booth. We were right by Kennetic Weddings {who I love working with! Such great people AND videographers!} and not far from Anything with Plants & Flowers {I love when I get the chance to work with them. I still haven’t decided if the people or the creations are better. We’ll call it a tie}. I was however, very far away from Tabbatha from The Wedding Assistant, which made me sad, but she was so great and helpful to me leading up to the show and after. It’s amazing that ‘vendors’ become friends that you can count on. Brides, you must contact her for help planning your wedding . She’ll be the one that takes all the stress off your shoulders so you can ENJOY your day! She is just a great person and you’ll want her on your side.
Here are a few pictures I got to take of our booth, Anything with Plants & Flowers, and The Wedding Assistant.

This Sunday, August 28, at 1:00 pm is the Fall Bridal Fantasy at Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort and Spa. There will be over 100 of the area’s finest wedding professionals, including me! { I borrowed that phrase from the poster, so I’m not tooting my own horn or anything :)} This is my first bridal show and while I’m slightly nervous, I’m mostly excited. It’s always fun meeting other vendors that I haven’t had the chance to work with yet and meeting lots of new brides and grooms. Will you be taking your groom to be with you, your maid of honor, your mom? All of them?
There will be a fashion show, honeymoon giveaways, tons of door prizes, an authentic casino lounge {fun!}
If you’re in the Jacksonville or St Augustine area and still need a ticket, you can follow the link and get your discounted tickets until tomorrow at 1:00pm. Don’t miss out!
Our Savannah Trip Part 2 {Savannah Photographer}

It’s been a busy few days since I shared part one of our Savannah trip, so it’s taken me longer to get these pictures up. We stayed at the Hilton Savannah DeSoto and these pictures are the view from our room.
On our way out of Savannah, we went to Bonaventure Cemetery. I admit, I did not take more than the picture of Little Gracie Watson and really I felt bad doing that. Not sure exactly why.
Our next stop was Wormsloe Plantation. There was a picture of it in our room and I had to go there. Really, I wanted to take a couple or a bride, but my husband posed {quickly} for me. Maybe one day I’ll get to go back and play more there. It’s really pretty, especially all the trees going in!
Love the sun coming through!
I guess Savannah was sad to see us go because this is the beginning of the storm we drove home in!
